Merchandiser
Merchandiser – Middlesbrough Location (Part-Time)
Location: Middlesbrough, United Kingdom (TS5) Hours: ~2–4 hours per week (likely to increase during busy periods) Pay: £15.07/hour (PAYE, including holiday pay) Start: Within 2 weeks after onboarding and training Work Pattern: Flexible days with fixed visits (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). About the Role
We are hiring dedicated Merchandisers to assist with brand activations in independent retail and grocery stores across the region. You’ll work closely with high street, grocery, and convenience outlets, arranging product displays, auditing stock, and ensuring strong store visibility. The role involves fixing and fitting fixtures, setting up in-store promotion materials, and maintaining visually appealing product layouts to drive sales.
Ideal candidates will have retail or merchandising experience, especially in health & beauty or consumer packaged goods (CPG), though we provide full training. Experience in brands like Boots, department stores, or premium beauty chains is a bonus.
Equally important is your ability to work independently, your communications skills, and your reliability. You’ll be using your own car (essential, as you’ll carry promotional materials), as well as a phone/tablet to report tasks and send photos.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
