MES Support Specialist (Part-Time)

Churchill Hospital, Oxford

24 Hours Per Week (3 Days)

£30,000 Basic (Flexibility for the Right Candidate) + £5,000 Car Allowance

Axira Partners are recruiting on behalf of a leading provider of Managed Equipment Services within the NHS for an MES Support Specialist.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established healthcare support team, ensuring the smooth operation of critical medical equipment services across a busy NHS environment. The role is primarily based at Churchill Hospital, Oxford, with occasional travel to John Radcliffe Hospital and Milton Keynes University Hospital, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.

The Role

You'll be responsible for supporting the day to day delivery of a Managed Equipment Service (MES), coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring service levels are maintained across the hospital sites.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing incoming service calls and maintenance requests.
  • Booking OEM and third-party service engineers.
  • Coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns.
  • Monitoring equipment downtime, uptime and contractual KPIs.
  • Liaising with NHS clinical teams, engineers and external contractors.
  • Maintaining accurate service records and producing performance reports.
  • Escalating service issues to ensure contractual SLAs are achieved.
  • Supporting the overall performance of the Managed Equipment Service.

About You

  • Ideally experience working within a PFI or Managed Service environment is essential.
  • A background within healthcare, medical devices, clinical engineering or NHS services would be advantageous, but candidates from other PFI or service coordination environments are also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience coordinating engineers, contractors or service activities.
  • Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable using helpdesk, service management or scheduling systems.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites when required.

  • £30,000 basic salary (with flexibility for the right candidate)
