Condé Nast is seeking a UK-based Messaging & Directory Services Engineer to join the global MDS team. This role will support the core platforms and services that underpin identity, access, directory, collaboration and email security across a global user base of approximately 8,000 users across 12 markets.
The successful candidate will work closely with the MDS Team Manager and technical lead to deliver both day-to-day operational support and strategic project work across Active Directory, Entra ID, with some input into Okta, Google Workspace and related services. The role will be particularly important in strengthening the team’s UK/EU coverage, providing additional depth in Active Directory and Windows-related technologies, and contributing to ongoing work in identity governance, authentication modernisation, collaboration security and platform standardisation.
This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who is comfortable operating across both BAU support and project delivery in a complex, global enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities

- Administer and support Active Directory across multiple regional domains
- Support Entra ID / hybrid identity integrations and related Microsoft platform dependencies
- Create, review and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and take ownership of directory hygiene and security baseline alignment
- Own and manage AD operations and cleanup, domain controller / DNS / DHCP-related changes where required, and broader Windows directory administration

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
