Metal Insight Analyst

About the Role

At Kpler, we empower organisations to navigate global trade with confidence. Since 2014, we’ve built a trusted reputation for delivering actionable insights across commodities, energy, and maritime sectors. Join a growing team of 700+ experts across 35+ countries, transforming complex data into market-shaping strategies.

Kpler’s Agriculture & Dry Bulk business unit is expanding its Metals & Minerals coverage. We’re seeking a Metals Insight Analyst to drive research and data innovation in real-time trade markets—connecting raw data with decisions that shape the future.

This foundational yet dynamic role blends market analysis, data science, and client engagement. You’ll establish unique insights on:

  • Exchange-traded metals: copper, aluminium, nickel, zinc, lead
  • Energy-transition materials: lithium, manganese, chrome

Your work will define new research products, bridge technical and commercial needs, and elevate Kpler’s position as a trusted voice in metals.

Responsibilities

Market Insights & Publications

  • Publish original research, analyzing trade flows, supply/demand dynamics, pricing pivots, and macro trends across your metals remit.
  • Combine Kpler’s proprietary data with external sources to deliver timely, market-shaping insights.
  • Shape your commodity price outlook, justifying views through publications, client meetings, and industry commentary.

Fundamental Research & Data Development

  • Build and refine supply/demand balance frameworks for assigned commodities.
  • Partner with data and product teams to:
    • Develop and validate fundamental datasets (trade, inventory, positioning data).
    • Identify gaps in Kpler’s coverage and propose priorities for enhancement.
  • Apply quantitative models to assess market fundamentals and price drivers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
