Metals Operator

Location: London or Geneva (Office-Based)

I'm currently partnering with a leading global commodities trading house to recruit experienced Metals Operators as part of the continued growth of their international operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected organisation operating across global metals and minerals markets, where you'll play a key role in managing the end-to-end execution of physical commodity trades.

The Role

Working within a collaborative global operations team, you'll be responsible for the seamless execution of physical metals and minerals transactions, ensuring cargoes move efficiently from contract through to final settlement.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing the end-to-end execution of physical metals and minerals trades.
  • Coordinating international logistics, shipping, warehousing, and inventory movements.
  • Liaising with traders, counterparties, freight providers, warehouses, inspectors, and financial institutions.
  • Managing trade documentation, including Bills of Lading, Letters of Credit, commercial invoices, and shipping documentation.
  • Monitoring contractual obligations, shipment schedules, and operational risks.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues and ensure timely trade settlement.
  • Supporting continuous improvements across operational processes and systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
