Metals Operator
Location: London or Geneva (Office-Based)
I'm currently partnering with a leading global commodities trading house to recruit experienced Metals Operators as part of the continued growth of their international operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected organisation operating across global metals and minerals markets, where you'll play a key role in managing the end-to-end execution of physical commodity trades.
The Role
Working within a collaborative global operations team, you'll be responsible for the seamless execution of physical metals and minerals transactions, ensuring cargoes move efficiently from contract through to final settlement.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing the end-to-end execution of physical metals and minerals trades.
- Coordinating international logistics, shipping, warehousing, and inventory movements.
- Liaising with traders, counterparties, freight providers, warehouses, inspectors, and financial institutions.
- Managing trade documentation, including Bills of Lading, Letters of Credit, commercial invoices, and shipping documentation.
- Monitoring contractual obligations, shipment schedules, and operational risks.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues and ensure timely trade settlement.
- Supporting continuous improvements across operational processes and systems.

About You
We're keen to speak with professionals who have:
- Proven experience in physical metals operations within a commodity trading environment.
- Strong knowledge of trade execution, international logistics, and supply chain processes.
- Experience handling trade documentation, Letters of Credit, Incoterms, and international shipments.
- The ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously within a fast-paced trading environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across commercial and operational teams.
