Metering Team Leader – 12 Months Fixed Term Contract

Location
This role will initially be based in Bradford but we’re moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026, so you’ll be based there in the future - Hybrid Working (2 office a week – Bradford/Leeds)
Work type
12 Months FTC. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Metering Team Leader to join the Water Service Delivery team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Where you fit in
As our Metering Team Leader you will
- Be responsible for delivering the company's meter reading programme and managing all subsequent billing and metering queries; ranging from high consumption queries, to leaking meters and meter survey appointments.
- Be responsible for leading a team of Metered Customer Service advisor to deliver industry leading customer experience to both our household customers and our non-household customers and their retailers with a particular focus on the delivery of the meter reading service provision for our contracted retailers.
- Work alongside the rest of the metering operations teams and the Smart metering team you will help design our future ways of working as we deploy over 1.4 million smart meters.
- Be responsible for leading the team to deliver excellent performance by setting clear expectations linked to business targets, having meaningful performance discussions that recognise and reward the right performance and behaviours and challenges where individual performance and behaviours do not meet expectations.
- Drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management and control of work and ensure compliance with the YW Safety Policy.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience of understanding where their team's role fits within a business plan and then implementing plans to deliver the outputs.
- Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
- Experience of supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours.
- Clearly demonstrates the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours
- Must also hold a valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
