Job Description
As a Metrology Engineer, you will join our Bristol team to support our activities within the aerospace and defence sector.
You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of test and measurement equipment used within a highly regulated engineering environment. Working within test and instrumentation facilities, you will support calibration activities, measurement assurance, and the maintenance of metrology standards across a variety of projects, including military programmes.

Experience Level: Mid to Senior (5-15 years of experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform calibration and metrology activities on test and measurement equipment
- Maintain calibration records and ensure compliance with applicable standards and procedures
- Support test environments through the verification, maintenance, and management of instrumentation
- Investigate measurement discrepancies and implement corrective actions where required
- Ensure traceability of measurements to national and international standards
- Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to calibration and metrology processes

Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in calibration and metrology engineering
- Strong understanding of measurement principles and uncertainty analysis
- Experience working with test equipment and instrumentation
- Knowledge of calibration processes for mechanical and/or electrical measurement systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work within highly regulated engineering environments
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
- Between 4 and 10 years of experience in calibration, metrology, or test engineering
- Experience working with measurement systems and laboratory or test environments
Desirable Skills:
- Experience supporting aerospace, defence, automotive, or other highly regulated industries
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 or related calibration standards
- Familiarity with military quality requirements and compliance processes
- Experience with automated test systems and data acquisition equipment
