YOUR ROLE
Are you passionate about safety, training, and developing people? Join our high-performing operation supporting Jaguar Land Rover, Solihull, as an MHE Instructor and play a key role in keeping our operation moving. In this exciting role, you will deliver engaging Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) training, assess operator competence, and ensure ongoing compliance with safety and operational standards. Working closely with the wider operations team, you'll help build a skilled, confident workforce while supporting continuous improvement across the site.
This is a Monday to Friday role, working 07:00–15:30, with an early finish on Fridays at 12:00.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Deliver MHE training, refresher training, and operator re-certification in line with site requirements and training plans.
- Conduct theory and practical assessments to ensure operator competence and maintain safe working standards.
- Ensure all MHE training paperwork is completed accurately, with training records, certifications, and competency matrices kept fully up to date.
- Maintain accurate records of operator authorisations, refresher training, and compliance documentation to ensure audit readiness.
- Monitor MHE operator performance on the shop floor, providing coaching and corrective training where required.
- Identify training gaps through observations, audits, and operational feedback, delivering targeted refresher training to improve safety and performance.
- Ensure MHE training activities comply with company standards, HSE requirements and regulations (PUWER, LOLER), and site safety procedures.
- Support incident and accident investigations by providing training insight, identifying learning opportunities, and delivering retraining where required.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across all shifts, ensuring safe systems of work and site safety procedures are followed.
- Support the onboarding of new starters through MHE familiarisation and training activities.
- Support internal, customer, and external audits by ensuring training documentation, records, and processes are accurate and up to date.
- Act as the on-site MHE training expert, ensuring training standards, equipment requirements, and health & safety documentation remain current.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- An accredited MHE Instructor qualification (RTITB or AITT).
- Proven experience delivering MHE training and assessments within a warehouse or logistics operation.
- Strong knowledge of MHE operations, training standards, certification requirements, and compliance processes.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
- Experience training and assessing operators across a range of MHE equipment.
- Excellent administration skills, with the ability to maintain accurate training records, certification trackers, audit evidence, and skills matrices.
- Understanding of health and safety requirements, including risk assessments, safe systems of work, and incident reporting.
- Experience supporting training, safety, or compliance initiatives and reporting on training KPIs.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365 and digital training record systems.
- A confident and engaging training style, with the ability to coach and support colleagues with different levels of experience and ability.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours professionally and promote a positive safety culture.
