Role Description
The MICE & Groups Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Telford, responsible for managing Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events, and group bookings. This role oversees the end-to-end coordination of events, from initial inquiry and proposal development through contracting, planning, and on-site execution. The manager works closely with sales, operations, and revenue teams to maximize event and group business, optimize occupancy, and ensure high guest satisfaction.

- Handling client communications

- Monitoring budgets
- Ensuring all service standards are met or exceeded
The role also involves:
- Identifying new business opportunities
- Maintaining strong relationships with corporate and agency clients
- Providing regular performance reporting to leadership
Qualifications
- Experience in MICE, group sales, or event management within hospitality, with a proven track record in handling conferences, meetings, and group bookings.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple events, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities, with a focus on client service and long-term partnerships.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of revenue management, budgeting, and cost control related to events and group business.
- Competence in using hotel sales and event management systems, CRM tools, and standard office software (e.g., MS Office).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional hotel teams and to work on-site, including occasional evening or weekend event coverage.
- Relevant education in hospitality, tourism, business, or events management, or equivalent professional experience.
- Knowledge of local and regional corporate, association, and leisure group markets in or around Telford is an advantage.
