Goaco is seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights & Journeys consultant (outside IR35)
Goaco is seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights & Journeys consultant (outside IR35) to support a public-sector client with the migration and consolidation of its marketing, event delegate management and webinar capabilities.
The requirement
The consultant will act as a trusted technical adviser and work collaboratively with the client’s internal teams to design, configure, migrate and transition services into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights & Journeys within an existing Dynamics 365 CRM environment.
The client currently uses several platforms to deliver email marketing, event registration, delegate management and webinars. These capabilities need to be consolidated into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights & Journeys.
The migration is expected to cover:
- ClickDimensions
- Spotler Communicator
- Eventbrite
- GoToWebinar
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights & Journeys
The successful consultant will provide hands-on implementation expertise while enabling the client’s internal team to understand, operate and support the resulting solution.
Key responsibilities
- Assess the existing marketing, event and webinar platforms, processes, integrations and data.
- Lead or advise on the solution design for Customer Insights & Journeys within the client’s existing Dynamics 365 environment.
- Configure Customer Insights & Journeys, including segments, journeys, triggers, communications, consent and preference management.
- Define and implement the approach for migrating relevant data, templates, lists, preferences and operational processes from the incumbent platforms.
- Design or configure event registration, delegate management and webinar-related capabilities and integrations.
- Support data mapping, cleansing, migration, reconciliation and validation.
- Ensure the implementation complies with UK GDPR, consent, subscription and communications-preference requirements.
- Identify technical dependencies, delivery risks and decisions that could affect the January 2027 cutover.
- Work iteratively with client product, technical, operational and marketing stakeholders.
- Produce proportionate technical documentation, configuration records, support guidance and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Support testing, defect resolution, deployment, cutover planning and early-life support.
- Provide technical coaching and knowledge transfer to the client’s internal teams.
- Work in accordance with the Government Service Manual and an iterative agile delivery approach.

Essentials Experience
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Proven delivery experience implementing or migrating to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights & Journeys, formerly Dynamics 365 Marketing.
- Hands-on experience configuring Customer Insights & Journeys in an established Dynamics 365 CRM environment.
- Experience migrating marketing data, customer preferences, segments, templates or journeys from third-party platforms.
- Strong understanding of real-time journeys, triggers, segmentation, lead/contact data and marketing consent management.
- Experience designing integrations between Dynamics 365 and event, webinar, email or other digital platforms.
- Experience supporting a complete delivery lifecycle: discovery, design, configuration, migration, testing, deployment and transition.
- Ability to work as a trusted technical adviser in a co-delivery model rather than operating solely as an independent delivery team.
- Strong stakeholder communication and the ability to explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- Ability to plan and deliver against a fixed, non-negotiable cutover date.
- Eligibility and willingness to undertake BPSS checks.

Highly desirable
- Migration experience involving one or more of:

- GoToWebinar
- Experience implementing event registration and delegate-management processes using Dynamics 365 and related Microsoft technologies.
- Experience with Power Platform, Power Automate, Dataverse and Dynamics 365 integration patterns.
- Knowledge of Azure integration services, APIs and identity or access-management considerations.
- Experience of public-sector delivery, G-Cloud engagements or projects following the Government Service Manual.
- Understanding of Cyber Essentials Plus environments and associated delivery controls.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Power Platform certifications.
- Experience delivering knowledge transfer and building the capability of internal client teams.

- Current-state and migration assessment.
- Target solution and integration design.
- Configured Customer Insights & Journeys solution.
- Data-mapping and migration approach.
- Migrated and validated marketing data and configuration.
- Event, delegate-management and webinar solution or integrations.
- Consent and preference-management configuration.
- Test support and defect resolution.
- Cutover, rollback and transition plan.
- Technical and operational documentation.
- Knowledge-transfer sessions.
- Support through go-live and early-life operation.
