Microsoft Dynamics 365 Developer – UK Public Sector (Digital Transformation Programme)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Developer to join a blended delivery team on a large-scale public sector digital transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities

As part of an Agile-based team, you will work alongside civil servants, delivery managers, and business analysts to:

  • Develop and maintain CRM systems, plugins, and integrations across multiple workstreams.
  • Build and configure Power Automate flows and Power Pages to support service delivery.
  • Develop Dynamics 365 C# plugins (cloud-based deployment) and recover lost code.
  • Write client-side JavaScript for Dynamics 365 model-driven app customisation.
  • Design and maintain Azure Functions, leveraging services like blob storage as required.
  • Ensure compatibility with source control and ticket management systems (Azure DevOps & Git).
  • Collaborate with data teams to maintain consistent data models.
  • Support legacy system testing during transformation phases.
  • Contribute to transition planning, including development and testing handovers to future teams.
  • Adhere to GDS Service Standards, DfE Technical Standards, WCAG 2.2 AA (accessibility), and GDPR compliance.
  • Work collaboratively in a distributed, multidisciplinary Agile team.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Automate Flows, and Power Pages.
  • Proficiency in:
    • C#, JavaScript, PowerFX, FetchXML, and Liquid Templates.
    • Azure DevOps, Git, Azure Functions, and Azure Cloud Services.
    • JSON, XML, and XSLT.
    • SQL Server 2016 and Azure cloud deployments.
  • Deep understanding of GDS Service Standards and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience working in UK Public Sector programmes (e.g., Department for Education, NHS, or equivalent).
  • Ability to work effectively remotely and collaboratively, with strong communication skills for both one-on-one and team discussions.

Desirable Experience

  • SharePoint integration within Dynamics 365.
  • Microsoft Certifications (e.g., AI-900, PL-200, PL-400, AZ-900).
  • Familiarity with:
    • The DDaT Capability Framework and Government Technology Code of Practice.
    • Supporting CRM system transitions or supplier handovers in government projects.
    • Government Design System principles.
