Microsoft Fabric & Power BI Solutions Architect

💰 £55,000 to £65,000 (DOE)
📍 Hybrid, Teesside or Manchester

Company & Role

A well established Microsoft Solutions Partner is standing up a brand new Data & Analytics capability and needs an architect-minded consultant to help build it from the ground up. They already have a strong Microsoft footprint, a people-first culture, and serious investment behind this area as a long-term growth bet.

This is a genuinely blended role. You will architect and deliver Fabric and Power BI solutions for customers, lead design and discovery sessions, get hands-on in the build, support pre-sales, and help shape the technical direction of a capability that does not yet have one. It is a build and shape role, not a maintain role, and it suits someone who wants ownership across the full lifecycle rather than sitting in a single lane.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Chance to be the technical anchor of a new capability, setting the standards, patterns, and ways of working across Fabric, Power BI, and the wider data estate
  • True mix of architecture, design, hands-on delivery, consultancy, and pre-sales, rather than being pushed towards a single track
  • Structured runway into a senior architect and pre-sales remit as the capability scales
  • Broad exposure across Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Platform, Copilot, and AI Builder, with room to shape where the practice goes next
  • Fully funded training and certifications, with a business that invests in people properly rather than only hiring the finished article
  • Customer-facing work, internal innovation, and internal enablement all in one seat, so the work stays varied

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and deliver Microsoft Data & Analytics solutions for customers, with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI at the core
  • Own solution design across the Fabric stack including OneLake, Data Factory, Synapse Data Engineering and Warehouse workloads, Real-Time Intelligence, and semantic models
  • Lead customer discovery, workshops, and design sessions, translating business problems into practical, well-architected solutions
  • Stay hands-on in the build, setting patterns and reference architectures that the wider team can deliver against
  • Support pre-sales activity including scoping, solutioning, demos, proposals, and effort estimation
  • Extend solutions into the wider Power Platform where it adds value, using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse alongside the data layer
  • Build internal innovation assets and accelerators that showcase what is possible across Fabric, Power BI, Copilot, and AI Builder
  • Help cross-train existing engineers and developers into Fabric and the modern Microsoft data stack, raising capability across the team
  • Set best practice around governance, security, licensing, workspace, and capacity strategy, and solution lifecycle management
  • Track the Microsoft roadmap across Fabric, Power BI, Power Platform, Copilot, and AI, and feed that thinking back into the business

Ideal Experience

  • Hands-on background designing and delivering Microsoft data and analytics solutions end-to-end, with strong Power BI capability across modelling, DAX, and report design
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, or a solid background across the legacy stack (Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Databricks) with a clear move into Fabric
  • Experience owning solution design and architecture decisions on customer engagements, not just delivery tickets
  • Exposure to Power Platform, ideally Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse, with an appetite to broaden further
  • Comfortable in front of customers, running workshops, shaping requirements, and presenting to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Some pre-sales or consulting experience, or a clear appetite to grow into a fuller pre-sales and architecture remit
  • Good understanding of data governance, security, and best practice within Microsoft environments, including Purview awareness
  • Awareness of Copilot, Copilot in Fabric, and AI Builder, with a genuine interest in pushing AI-led analytics further
  • Wider Microsoft stack awareness across Azure data services and Microsoft 365
  • Genuine passion for the Microsoft data ecosystem
