Overview
Meadowkart Limited, India’s fastest-growing e-commerce company, is looking for a highly capable Mid-Level Full Stack Developer (Laravel & React) to join our engineering team and play a key role in developing and scaling our e-commerce platform. Our office is located in Kolkata, and this position offers a home office work arrangement.
This role is intended for engineers who can take ownership of both backend and frontend development, build scalable business-critical features, and contribute to architectural decisions while maintaining high engineering standards.
The ideal candidate should have proven experience developing production-grade e-commerce applications and possess strong expertise in Laravel, React, relational database design, and API architecture. Beyond feature implementation, the candidate should be able to understand complex business workflows, optimize application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and collaborate effectively with designers, QA engineers, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Laravel and React.
- Build secure, well-documented, and maintainable RESTful APIs that serve multiple client applications.
- Develop responsive, high-performance user interfaces using React and modern JavaScript.
- Design efficient database schemas, write optimized queries, and ensure data integrity across the application.
- Implement and maintain core e-commerce modules including product catalog, inventory management, shopping cart, checkout, order management, promotions, and customer accounts.
- Integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, shipping providers, SMS/email services, and external APIs.
- Optimize application performance, database queries, caching strategies, and overall system reliability.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate business requirements into intuitive user experiences.
- Participate in technical discussions, architecture planning, and feature estimation.
- Conduct code reviews, write reusable and testable code, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and deliver timely resolutions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful feature delivery throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in full-stack web application development.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Laravel and modern PHP development practices.
- Solid experience building applications with React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Strong understanding of REST API architecture, authentication mechanisms (JWT, Sanctum, OAuth), and API security best practices.
- Excellent knowledge of MySQL database design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Proven experience building and maintaining production-grade e-commerce platforms.
- Strong understanding of:
- Product catalog management
- Shopping cart and checkout workflows
- Order lifecycle management
- Inventory management
- Coupon and promotional engines
- Customer account management
- Payment gateway integration
- Shipping and logistics integration
- Experience with Git, pull requests, and collaborative development workflows.
- Familiarity with caching technologies, queues, background jobs, and application performance optimization.
- Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns, clean code principles, and SOLID practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker and containerized development.
- Knowledge of Redis, Horizon, and queue-based architectures.
- Experience deploying applications on AWS, DigitalOcean, or similar cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Experience with unit testing, feature testing, and automated quality assurance.
- Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Meilisearch, or other search technologies is a plus.
