Job Description

As the primary developer at Create Academy Ltd., you will own the entire codebase and drive technical excellence alongside the CTO. You will build engaging learning experiences using a modern Rails 8.1 stack, implementing features from concept to completion. This role offers high autonomy, direct product impact, and the opportunity to shape the future of creative education.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the technical direction and architectural decisions for the primary web application and upcoming, soon-to-be-announced product projects.
  • Implement end-to-end features using Ruby on Rails, Hotwire, and PostgreSQL while maintaining high standards for code quality, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with the UX, design, and growth teams to create seamless learning experiences and evolve the product roadmap based on customer insights.

The ideal candidate

  • At least 4 years of production experience with Ruby on Rails, demonstrating deep expertise across the entire full-stack development lifecycle and architectural decision-making.
  • Strong background in PostgreSQL, RESTful APIs, and payment systems like Stripe, with a preference for those who favor modern Hotwire and Stimulus patterns.
  • Proactive, self-motivated problem solver who enjoys taking ownership of features and making smart, independent technical decisions in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
