Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Mid Level Interaction Designer with strong GDS experience to join the multidisciplinary team on one of our most visible programmes. This is a 3 Month Contract role, with a chance of extension, designed for someone who enjoys working in complex, high social impact delivery environments.
The role is remote. We are ideally looking for someone who can start 6th July 2026.
You’ll be delivering Interaction Design across a substantial GDS project, working closely with multidisciplinary teams on problems that are often complex, sensitive and fast-moving.
While the environment brings challenge and pressure, it also offers the opportunity to contribute to services with meaningful societal impact, where good user research genuinely shapes outcomes for the public.
Qualifications
Essential Experience:
- Significant experience working as an interaction designer within GDS projects
- Experience working within multidisciplinary delivery teams
- Demonstrable experience working with complex stakeholder groups, navigating ambiguity and competing priorities

- Candidates must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK. Documentary evidence will be required.
- All offers are subject to satisfactory vetting, references and occupational health checks.
- Depending on the nature of the role a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check may also be required along with further vetting checks like SC and NPPV3
