About the Role
This role is ideal for a skilled 2D animator passionate about classic animation styles. You will be responsible for creating two 30-second animated commercials in a vintage cartoon aesthetic, referencing the iconic looks of Hanna-Barbera, UPA, and early Jay Ward productions. The first project involves designing original characters inspired by radio voices and delivering a finished spot with expressive, limited animation and a nostalgic color palette. If the pilot is successful, a second commercial will follow, featuring both an existing mascot and a new character in the same visual style. The work is fully remote, and you may operate independently or as a small studio. The focus is on authenticity—no modern motion graphics or 3D, but genuine old-school animation that captures the warmth and simplicity of mid-century cartoons.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
