Mid to Senior Freelance Interior Designer

Location: Central London (Hybrid) Rate: £250–£350 per day (dependent on experience) Contract: Full-time preferred, part-time considered Hours: 9:00am – 6:00pm (flexibility available)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Mid to Senior Interior Designer to join the in-house design team of a prestigious luxury hospitality business on a full-time freelance basis.

Working from a Central London studio, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-end hotel refurbishment and renovation projects across an internationally recognised luxury portfolio. Reporting directly to the Design Director, you’ll work within a collaborative, creative team, taking ownership of projects from concept through to completion while helping shape the future design direction of the brand.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced designer looking to work on exceptional hospitality interiors with genuine creative influence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple small to medium-sized interior design projects from concept through to completion.
  • Produce technical drawing packages, construction documents, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and suppliers throughout project delivery.
  • Attend site visits to resolve technical queries and monitor design implementation.
  • Source furniture, fixtures, finishes, and OS&E to support project delivery.
  • Contribute to interior styling, photoshoots, and wider brand presentation initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Manage project programmes and priorities across multiple live schemes.

About You

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within an interior design studio.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating luxury hospitality and/or high-end residential projects.
  • Degree qualified in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
  • Proven ability to independently deliver projects from concept through to completion.

Technical & Practical Skills

  • Strong technical detailing and construction documentation experience.
  • Good understanding of procurement processes and supplier coordination.
  • Confident in communicating with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

Personal Attributes

  • Self-motivated, organised, and collaborative, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Software Requirements

Essential

  • AutoCAD
  • SketchUp
  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Desirable

  • Enscape or similar rendering software.
  • Interior styling and photoshoot experience.
  • OS&E sourcing experience.
