Job Title

Mid-weight Graphic Designer

Job Description

So, who are we?

IG has been at the centre of retail trading and investment since 1974, when we helped create the market for financial spread betting. Today, we're a FTSE100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 700,000 clients and handling billions in transactions - built on decades of scale, trust and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses. The bar is high - bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next. Join us at IG – the future gets built here.

Your team

IG Group is looking for a talented and driven Mid-weight Designer to join our in-house creative team. In this role, you'll help shape our visual identity across digital and print touchpoints, creating design solutions that translate the complexity of trading and investing into simple, actionable communication. Reporting into the Senior Designer, the ideal candidate balances strong conceptual thinking with polished execution—someone who can translate brand strategy into compelling visuals while maintaining consistency across various channels.

We're particularly keen to hear from designers with a genuine interest in our world—finance, fintech, trading, technology or SaaS—who can speak to why a business like IG excites them, not just why the role does.

Your role in the team's success

We need a versatile designer with an integrated mindset—capable of working seamlessly between digital and print, campaigns and organic content, web and social, bringing fresh thinking to each project while working within established brand guidelines. This role also calls for someone comfortable operating with a good degree of autonomy: you'll be trusted to manage your own workload and make sound creative decisions without needing close direction at every step.

We're also looking for someone who can think a step beyond the brief—not just spotting where a piece of work falls short but proposing (and building) a better version of it. If you're a passionate designer that's excited by demystifying the financial markets with creativity, enjoy collaborative problem-solving, and are ready to grow your skills in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you. This is an opportunity to develop your design career while contributing to work that genuinely impacts how people understand and engage with their financial futures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you'll do

  • Create visual assets for integrated campaigns across OOH and digital media, social media, emails and website—that's consistent, on-brand, and follows channel best practice
  • Adapt existing campaign concepts into various formats and sizes across print, digital and motion

  • Collaborate closely with the Motion Designer to develop storyboards and visual concepts for a range of motion assets
  • Partner with Copywriters to ideate, challenge and create effective marketing content together
  • Take feedback and direction from the Senior Designer and Head of Creative, while bringing your own point of view to the table
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of IG's brand identity, identifying opportunities to push it forward within its core principles, not just apply it consistently
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices, bringing fresh thinking to the team
  • Proactively experimenting with and using AI tools to improve workflow and efficiency

What you'll need for this role

  • Extensive background in graphic design or brand design within marketing or advertising

  • Strong, up-to-date understanding of websites, responsive design and UX/UI principles
  • Significant, demonstrable experience creating digital content
  • Experience in print production, colour management and setting up artwork for OOH, press and publications
  • Ability to do basic animation and apply motion to campaign assets and a range of digital content
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and Figma
  • Experience using or experimenting with AI in a commercial environment
  • A collaborative, team-first attitude — you bring positive energy to the team, take feedback constructively, and are as invested in your colleagues' success as your own
  • A strong portfolio that's noticeably distinctive. Clearly demonstrating the skills above rather than just describing them.
