Role Overview
Pashley Down Infant School is offering a part-time, term-time-only role as a Midday Supervisor Assistant (MDSA). The successful candidate will ensure a safe, happy, and enjoyable lunchtime experience for our children while supervising both indoors and outdoors across our beautiful school site.
Working Details
- Hours of work: 10 hours per week
- Working pattern: Part-time, term-time only (39 weeks per year)
- Annual leave: 6.86 weeks (increases after 5 years' continuous service)
- Salary: Pro rata (reflecting part-time hours)
- Fixed term: 12 months
- Working hours: 11.30am – 1.30pm Monday to Friday

About the Role
Pashley Down is set in a stunning environment with:
- A woodland
- An allotment
- A mini farm!
As the MDSA, you’ll:
- Supervise and care for children during lunchtime (both indoors and outdoors)
- Ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
- Support pupils in leading active and engaging lunchtime activities
Person Specification
Desirable
- Prior experience in childcare or a similar role
- Paediatric first aid training (advantageous)
Essential
- Warm, patient, and capable of managing young children
- Practical experience in school environments (or willingness to work within safeguarding guidelines)
- Strong commitment to safeguarding children’s welfare

Working Conditions
- Duty during lunch periods (11.30am – 1.30pm)
- Outdoor work (weather-dependent)
- Age range: Typically Key Stage 1 children (ages 4–7)

Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Central to the role: Understanding and upholding Pashley Down’s Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy.
- Staff will be trained or supported to achieve DBS compliance.
