Middle Full Stack Engineer (Remote - UK-Based, Fully Remote) at Relay
Part-time remote engagement via a partner company handling recruitment and next steps.
About the Role
Relay is hiring a Middle Full Stack Engineer to develop and refine a high-traffic fintech platform, supporting tens of thousands of business users. As part of cross-functional product teams, you will:
- Build, enhance, and maintain internal developer tools
- Facilitate scalable frontend/backend infrastructure using React + TypeScript
- Integrate third-party and internal feature contributions into production-ready systems
- Drive CI/CD, automated testing, and modern development practices (e.g., AI-assisted coding tools like Cursor, Claude, or Codex)
- Deliver stable, high-performance software underpinned by clean architecture and engineering ownership
Key themes: ✔ Strong team & technical autonomy and iterative learning ✔ Async-first collaboration and fast delivery cycles
Key Responsibilities

React Development & Ecosystem
- Develop and maintain a core React-based platform
- Optimise developer workflows for cross-engineering teams

Full-Stack Integration
- Merge and refactor third-party and internal feature contributions
- Ensure seamless backend/frontend alignment (REST APIs, WebSockets, etc.)

Continuous Delivery
- Manage release processes with CI/CD pipelines
- Enforce automated testing frameworks & performance benchmarks

- Marketing Engineering & DevOps
- Contribute to AI-assisted tooling (e.g., autocomplete, static review)
- Collaborate on frontend state management (e.g., Redux, RTK Query)
- Advocate for code quality, testable patterns, and maintainability
Technical Requirements

Full-Stack Experience (3+ years)
- Proven practical application of React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Expertise in modern ES6+ features, strict TypeScript practices

Core Stack & Integration
- Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, and real-time data protocols
- Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, RTK Query)

DevOps & Tooling
- Practical understanding of automated testing practice (unit, E2E, etc.)
- Perf optimisation techniques (lazy loading, bundling, caching)

AI-Assisted Dev
- Experience with Cursor, Claude AI, or similar productivity tools

Soft & Language Skills √ Upper-intermediate English proficiency √ Fluent Ukrainian (required; assumes candidate may interact with native speakers in team)
