Middle Full Stack Engineer Remote (United Kingdom-based Candidate) | Partner: Relay
About the Role
At Relay, we’re building a high-traffic fintech platform for tens of thousands of business users. This fully remote Middle Full Stack Engineer will focus on developing and maintaining internal tools, driving developer experience, and ensuring seamless cross-team integration within a React-based ecosystem.
You’ll work in a collaborative engineering-driven environment where async communication, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development are core practices. Your team priorities include clean architecture, technical ownership, and continuous improvement—all critical for growing this agile, fast-moving product organisation.
Key Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Build, maintain, and enhance a React-based platform serving internal cross-function feature development.
- Integrate standalone engineering team outputs into a production-ready system with stability and reliability as priorities.
- Own release processes to ensure timely, seamless deployments with minimal disruption.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve developer workflows and streamline internal processes.
- Design and implement scalable frontend/backend solutions using modern JavaScript/TypeScript stacks.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and performance optimisation while leveraging AI tools to boost productivity.
- Contribute to code standards through reviews, testing, and rigorous adherence to engineering best practices.

Requirements (What You Bring)
Technical & Architectural Skills
✔ 3+ years as a Full Stack or Frontend Engineer, with hands-on React expertise. ✔ Advanced JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge (prioritising ES6+ and modern patterns). ✔ Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software delivery workflows. ✔ Ability to integrate backend services (REST APIs, WebSockets for real-time data). ✔ Familiarity with state management (Redux, RTK Query or functional equivalents) and frontend tooling chains. ✔ Practical hands-on experience with AI-dev tools (Cursor, Claude, Codex or similar). ✔ Clean architecture principle adherence, optimisation for performance and maintainability.
Soft Skills & Compliance
✔ Fluent in English (upper-intermediate) with basic Ukrainian for internal communication. ✔ Strong collaborative skills, would adapt to a remote-first, async culture. ✔ Prior experience delivering high-reliability systems in fast-paced environments is a significant plus.
