Description

JOB OPENING: MIDDLE SCHOOL MATHEMATICS TEACHER

Saint James School, National Blue Ribbon School (2024), is a co-ed, Catholic elementary school located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen. We serve approximately 370 students in grades Pre-K (3 year olds) through eighth. We are proud to have been providing a nurturing, safe, and faith-filled environment where our students are challenged to be their best for 60 years.

We are looking for a master of the mathematical craft who views instruction as a narrative of discovery. The ideal candidate will possess the pedagogical agility to bridge foundational concepts with advanced algebraic reasoning, ensuring that every student is both challenged and supported.

Required Knowledge/Abilities Include

  • Craft standards-based, coherent lesson and unit structures that prioritize clarity, sequence, and alignment.
  • Execute well-structured lessons that maintain a rigorous yet accessible momentum, ensuring all instructional outcomes are met within the academic calendar.
  • Design and implement diverse formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress “early and often” using this data to adjust instruction in real-time.
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to all administrative deadlines for lesson planning, grading, and parent communication.
  • Ability to teach PreAlgebra and Algebra I concepts to 6-8 grade students.
  • Understanding high school expectations with a goal of properly preparing students for high school mathematics (Algebra I or Geometry).
  • Members of the Catholic faith are preferred, but not required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
