Middleweight Creative Artworker - 10 Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

Are you an experienced, unflappable and detail-obsessed Creative Artworker? (You know who you are.)

We're looking for a talented Middleweight Creative Artworker to join Red Central on a 10-month maternity cover contract. If you love popular culture, thrive on precision, and relish the opportunity to work with some of the world's biggest entertainment brands, we’d love to hear from you.

You’re the kind of person who spots the 0.1mm shift, the rogue font, or the colour profile that’s about to cause chaos before anyone else does. You take pride in producing technically flawless artwork and ensuring every file is ready for production.

Overview

  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Contract: 10-month fixed-term maternity cover
  • Salary: Competitive, matched to experience
  • Location: Bath (beautiful studio between Bath and Bristol with free parking)
  • Working Culture: Hybrid (2–3 days working from home each week)

The Role

You’ll be part of a three-strong Creative Artworking team, supporting our wider creative department and bringing designs to life across a broad range of outputs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and adapting artwork for production across print and digital applications
  • Pre-production file work, image retouching and asset preparation
  • Packaging artwork and amendments
  • Layout and production of style guides, look books, and presentations
  • Advertising and retail point-of-sale (POS) artwork
  • Creating product and packaging mock-ups
  • Managing versioning, localisation, and artwork updates where required
  • Ensuring all artwork is accurate, compliant, and delivered to specification

You’ll be confident interpreting brand guidelines, licensing style guides, retailer specifications, and legal requirements, ensuring every asset is consistent, technically correct, and production-ready.

A key part of the role will involve collating, checking, and preparing complex design files for real-world application, including print production and reproduction onto garments and consumer products. Working closely with client guidelines, you’ll ensure work leaves the studio accurately prepared and ready for manufacture or publication.
