Location: Sheffield, commutable from Rotherham, Chesterfield, Worksop, Dronfield
Hourly Pay: £15.08
Hours: 07:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:00 to 11:00 Friday - 40 hours including 2 x paid breaks
Tenure: Temp to perm
Join a busy and growing fabrication team as a MIG Welder, working on new projects and large engineered assemblies. You'll be welding mild steel (4mm+), building jigs from scratch, and producing high quality components for vehicle interiors, crushers for refuse lorries, and other heavy duty products.
This role is ideal for an experienced, time served or apprentice trained MIG Welder who can work confidently from drawings and enjoys varied project work. You will need to complete a T fillet and MIG weld test on mild steel to be considered.
MIG Welder Key Responsibilities
- MIG welding mild steel, typically 4mm+ thickness
- Building jigs from scratch for production and project builds
- Working from engineering drawings to fabricate accurate assemblies
- Welding and assembling vehicle interiors, crushers and large fabricated structures
- Supporting new product builds, prototypes and bespoke fabrication work
- Maintaining a safe, organised workshop environment
MIG Welder Skills and Experience
- Time served or highly experienced MIG Welder
- Strong jig building and fabrication skills
- Confident welding 4mm+ mild steel unassisted
- Ability to work accurately from drawings
- Experience with vehicle interiors or heavy fabrication is an advantage
- Good understanding of measurements, angles and fabrication layouts
