About the Programme
We’re Centrica, Energisers—a family of brands revolutionising energy to create a greener, fairer future. As part of our 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTSE100 Talent Placement Programme), we’re inviting Military Service Leavers and Elite Athletes to transition their skills into a fulfilling career with us.

Role Overview
Location: UK-wide (Hybrid, with travel to Leicester, Stockport, London, Windsor, Reading) Duration: 12-month Fixed Term Contract, with potential to transition into a Permanent Role
As the Workplace Lead, you’ll drive workplace transformation and operational excellence across our sites—combining strategic vision with hands-on leadership.
Key Dimensions

Transformation Delivery
- Lead change programmes (moves, renovations, workplace experience improvements).
- Embed new ways of working and guide colleagues through transitions.

Operational Delivery
- Ensure workplace environments are safe, functional, and performance-ready.
- Optimise services and resolve issues to deliver consistency.
This role aligns with Centrica’s shift to an outcome-led workplace model—where the workplace supports collaboration, productivity, and systemic performance.
Key Responsibilities
Transformation & Change Delivery
- Design and execute workplace change projects (e.g., relocations, refurbishments).
- Embed new standards, concepts, and colleague engagement strategies.
- Oversee communication and adoption of workplace innovations.
Operational Leadership & Performance
- Accountable for workplace effectiveness across assigned locations (utilisation, service quality).
- Establish clear operational rhythms (issue tracking, communication, escalations).
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure seamless workplace readiness.

Insight & Continuous Improvement
- Leverage data, feedback, and observations to drive workplace optimisation.
- Transition from reactive issue-solving to proactive, strategic service improvements.
Supplier & Partner Management
- Collaborate with FM partners and suppliers to uphold deliverables, SLAs, and performance standards.
- Monitor contracts, escalate issues, and ensure services align with workplace goals.
Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
- Build rapport with business leaders, People teams, and enabling functions.
- Advocate for workplace solutions that align with business strategy.
- Serve as the trusted liaison between workplace and commercial teams.
Digital & Behavioural Adoption
- Support integration of workplace technology and digital tools.
- Promote behaviours that maximise workplace investment (e.g., space utilisation, tech adoption).
- Empower colleagues to use space, time, and technology effectively.
Requirements
We seek potential, not perfection. While we welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds, these qualities are sharable:
- Experience in change management, operational improvements, or complex environments.
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritisation skills, with clarity in executing across stakeholders.
- Proven track record of improved experience, efficiency, or quality in past roles.
- Ambiguity tolerance—comfort thriving in fast, dynamic environments.
- Familiarity with workplace, estates, facilities, or service environments.
- Experience managing suppliers, partners, or cross-functional teams.
- Proven accountability, ownership, and adaptability.
- Collaborative and inclusive mindset, balancing strategic goals with daily operations.
Highlight: We encourage applicants from Military personnel (CTP window included) and Elite Athletes with international/UK sports experience (past 3 years).

Who Can Apply?
Eligible Candidates:
- Military Service Leavers: Within 2 years of leaving the Armed Forces (or within CTP resettlement window).
- Elite Athletes: Current or recent international-professional sports background (within the last 3 years).
