Role Overview
Job Title: Weapon Effects Simulation System (WES/TES) Operative This role supports Weapon Effects Simulation Systems (WES) and Training Effectiveness Simulation Equipment (TES) to meet operational and logistical needs. Key responsibilities include equipment issue, maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and warehouse management.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Duties
- Issue, receipt, preparation, and logistics support for AWES/TES equipment for military and civilian users.
- Instruct TES Assistant Instructors and deliver TES-related training programs.
- Maintain and update the LMIS (Logistics Management Information System) database.
- Day-to-day warehouse operations, including customer liaison.
- Audit and track Group 2 equipment under the Inventory Manager’s supervision.
- Preventative maintenance and in-depth troubleshooting of warehouse-held TES equipment.
- Operate forklifts and manage equipment movement within the warehouse.
- Deploy to the field for technical support, troubleshooting, and customer engagement.

Workshop Duties
- Set up and operate electronic test equipment to evaluate component/subassembly performance.
- Diagnose, locate, and rectify malfunctions in man-worn and vehicle-based TES systems, including:
- Vehicle kits (electronic/mechanical components)
- Worn systems (vests, helmets, SAT electronics)
- Document maintenance records and log repairs under Workshop Manager oversight.
- Conduct Group 2 equipment repairs if delegated.
MAAR Operative Duties
- Deploy and set up Mobile After Action Review (AAR) vehicles at Simulation Points (SPTA).
Training & Deployment Support
- Train military vehicle crews in TES fitting, use, and troubleshooting.
- Instruct man-worn TES users on proper application, alignment, and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical support during TESEX (training exercises) with direct communication to military personnel.
- Deploy to manage Deployable AWES systems, including mobile Field Support Warehouse operations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on TES equipment, LMIS, warehouse procedures, and import/export processes.
Additional Responsibilities
- Adhere to Cubic’s core values and company policies, including:

- Occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines
- Remain open to additional duties assigned by management when required.
- Complete internal training as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong instructional ability to train military standards, up to 100 personnel per class.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (standard IT skills).
- Ability to operate basic radio equipment and use military communication protocols.

Desirable:
- Military experience (preferred).
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Industrial sewing skills (for equipment repair).
- Technical background, especially in electronics/mechanical repair.
- Basic health & safety knowledge.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Commercial HGV C+E licence (advantageous).
Education & Qualifications
Essential:
- UK secondary/military education or higher.
- Instructional qualification (validated training/teaching ability).
- Full UK driving licence (required for deployments).
Desirable:
- Military logistics/warehouse training.
- Methods of Instruction (MOI) certification.
- Import/Export licensing (LCS or similar).
- HGV C+E (desired for field support).
Personal Attributes
- Thrives in a team environment with high situational awareness.
- Maintains calm performance under pressure.
- Physically fit with the ability to carry out manual handling duties.
- Will travel extensively, including overseas deployments.
- Meets basic security clearance requirements.
- Presents a professional appearance at all times.
