Mill Operations Assistant – The Timber Group, Herringswell (IP28 6SS)

We're located 7 miles from Newmarket and 15 miles from Bury St Edmunds.

As an Operations Assistant, you’re all about keeping the mill running smoothly.
You’ll help make sure the space is clean, safe and efficient, while giving customers friendly, reliable service. You’re a key part of the team, jumping in where needed and helping things flow without a hitch.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Safely unwrap and wrap timber packs
- Operate machinery at infeed and outfeed to keep things moving smoothly
- Run the baler and keep it in good shape
- Help keep the mill clean, tidy and safe
- Make sure stock is organised and clearly labelled
- Chat with the team to keep everything running smoothly
- Jump in with any other tasks that help get the job done

What You’ll Bring
You’ll need to be comfortable reading paperwork and keeping records accurate, working outdoors in all kinds of weather and managing your time well when working solo. Staying on top of health and safety and following company procedures is a must to keep things running safely and smoothly.
