Summary
Feed Mill Operator – Practical, Hands-On Role with Full Training
The Role
Are you someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning new systems, and contributing to a high-quality production environment? An opportunity has arisen to join the team at Sofina's Brydock Mill in a vital role supporting our agricultural operations.
As a Feed Mill Operator, you will be part of a committed team delivering feed production for our farming network. While experience in a production environment is helpful, it’s not essential – we’ll give you the training and tools to succeed.
The current weekly work pattern is 4 days of 12 hour shifts (Monday to Thursday) with a rotating day shift and night shift pattern.
Payrate: £13 per hour
Your Key Responsibilities
- Operate batching, mixing, and pressing equipment to produce animal feed safely and efficiently.
- Accurately weigh and add premixes, feed additives, and medications as required, keeping clear records.
- Load finished feed into vehicles following load sheets, retaining samples and completing paperwork.
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment in line with hygiene and audit standards.
- Follow safety, quality, and hygiene protocols to ensure our standards are met
- Learn compliance procedures and production systems through structured training
- Work a rotating schedule that includes night shifts as part of a team rota

The Ideal Candidate
- Familiar with production environments and computer systems (preferred but not required)
- Willing to learn and follow clear processes and compliance documentation
- A dependable team player with strong attention to detail
- Motivated to work to high standards in a physical, fast-paced setting
- Previous experience in a production-based role is an advantage, but not essential.
- Forklift license (preferred but not required - training will be provided)
