Job Title: Mill/Turner

Moog Aircraft Group is seeking an apprentice-trained, experienced CNC Machinist (Mill/Turn). We specialise in designing and building complex, bespoke and high-profile mechanical products for the aerospace industry. Our Machinists excel in adhering to exceptionally tight tolerances, ensuring the highest levels of precision.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multiple CNC machines/processes
- Perform first-off inspections and complete necessary quality documentation
- Ensure capability and competence in setting up and operating machine tools
- Carry out personal 1st off inspections and check/complete quality documentation
- Validate experience in a machine shop environment
- Proficiency in setting up and using machine tools
- Confidence in operating precision measurement equipment

Key Requirements
Experience & Skills

Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship
-
Previous experience in engineering/manufacturing, ideally within the aerospace industry

Strong knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling

Proven skills in a multi-axis/complex machining environment

Attention to detail, precision, and process improvement techniques
-
Proficient in relevant inspection techniques/equipment for maintaining drawing tolerances

5+ years' experience on various mill/turn CNC machines, including:
- Okuma
- Mazak
- Lathe
- DMG
- Matsura
- Puma

Any applicants must be self-certified and hold a quality stamp post-qualifying period.
Security Clearance
For this role, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is mandatory. Maintaining this clearance is essential, and eligibility depends on its attainment. For further information, refer to: GOV.UK Security Standards.
Working Conditions
This role operates under a day shift pattern, with potential flexibility to:
- 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
