Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon (Part Time or Full Time)

Putlands Veterinary Surgery – Paddock Wood, Kent

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Large Animal Vet to join our friendly, RCVS-accredited practice in Kent. Established in 1977, Putlands Veterinary Surgery provides high-quality care to Farm, Equine and Small Animal patients and prides itself on a supportive, team-focused culture.

This is a genuinely mixed role with an equal split between farm and equine work and include small animal work, supporting a varied caseload including beef, dairy, sheep, camelids, smallholders and first-opinion equine cases. You will be based from a well-equipped clinic with x-ray, Easi-Scan ultrasound, endoscopy, in-house laboratory, equine dental equipment and fertility testing equipment, we have on site equine stocks, a large animal prep room and stabling alongside excellent on-site infrastructure.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
