The Life of a Casino Dealer
The life of a casino Dealer can be demanding, rewarding, and very exciting! This is a niche skillset that can provide you with a long-term career and open lots of doors to you!
Responsibilities
A casino dealer is responsible for operating table games such as blackjack, roulette, poker, and baccarat. They conduct the games in a professional and fair manner, ensuring that all rules and regulations are strictly followed.
- Shuffling and dealing cards
- Handling chips
- Managing bets placed by the players
In addition to their technical skills, dealers must have excellent customer service abilities. They are the face of the casino and need to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all guests. This involves interacting with players, explaining the rules of the game, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.

Moreover, a dealer must be vigilant and alert to prevent and identify any cheating or fraudulent activities. They must also be able to handle large sums of money accurately and efficiently.

Career Path
What a Career Path Could Look Like for You
Initial training is an intense 8 weeks course in mid-June, learning all the skills you need. After completion of the in-house training, you start as a Trainee Dealer, working through your probation period and once you reach a certain skill level will be promoted to Dealer. In around 12-18 months you become fully proficient and confident in your role, and it may be time to start thinking about the next steps, training to become an Inspector. Beyond inspector there is a pit boss role and then you would start moving into casino management, but that’s just 1 career path within the casino there are many other options and specialties too!

About You
- Customer Focused
- Technical understanding of Gaming product and offering
- Confident in decision making
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability for independent working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Being flexible and able to work a variety of shifts including night shifts and weekends
Ideally, candidates will live in Milton Keynes.
