Job Description
Property MLS Legal Manager
Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced property lawyer to join Pinsent Masons’ Property Managed Legal Services (MLS) team as an MLS Legal Manager. This is a senior, client‑facing role for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of legal expertise, leadership and modern service delivery.
This isn’t a traditional fee‑earning role. Instead, you’ll play a central role in developing and delivering high‑quality, scalable legal services for clients with large and complex property portfolios, using a lawyer‑led, tech‑enabled operating model.
Vario is a market‑leading alternative legal services provider within Pinsent Masons, bringing together flexible resourcing, process and legal technology to help clients achieve more through simplification, standardisation and automation.
Our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm; however, we are happy to consider flexible working requests.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll:
Support the Head of Property MLS in the strategic growth of the Vario Property MLS offering, including business development, solution design, global resourcing models, delivery frameworks, and scaling team capability Work closely with the Property MLS Legal Operations team to deliver services in line with MLS operating models, driving efficiency, effective resourcing and consistent delivery Lead, manage and develop a high‑performing team of lawyers, fostering a collaborative, solution‑focused culture and sharing asset management expertise Oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of commercial MLS engagements, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, within scope, and to agreed quality standards Act as a trusted senior advisor to clients with large and complex property portfolios, designing tailored MLS solutions and providing clear, commercial advice aligned to their business objectives Champion process optimisation, innovation and the use of legal technology and AI to enhance service delivery, while contributing to wider MLS strategy, thought leadership and internal initiative Collaborate cross‑functionally within Vario and with the Pinsent Masons Property Practice Group to design and deliver integrated, hybrid client solutions Build strong internal relationships to raise team visibility and identify organic growth opportunities by spotting unmet client needs or service improvements Represent MLS in internal initiatives, including marketing activity, thought leadership, client panels and innovation strategy sessions

About You
Qualification as a lawyer with 10+ years’ PQE in English law, with a strong asset management background and extensive experience advising on complex property portfolios Experience operating at a senior advisory level, with confidence engaging clients, shaping solutions and influencing stakeholders. Comfort using legal technology and digital tools to manage portfolios, track performance and compliance, and support data‑driven decision making A collaborative, commercially minded approach, with an interest in modern legal service delivery and alternative delivery models
