Mobility Security Officer – Multi-Site Court & Tribunal (Worthing Area)
About the Role
Working Pattern: This is a mobile, multi-site role requiring flexibility to support operational needs across Worthing and surrounding areas. Shift patterns may vary depending on site requirements.
Primary Responsibility: As a Mobile Security Officer, you will ensure the safe, secure, and welcoming environment across a network of court and tribunal sites. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Operational Security:
- Managing access control and monitoring activities in alignment with security protocols.
- Security patrols in both public and restricted areas with regular updates to control points.
- Prompt response to alarms, incidents, and security concerns.

Departmental Assistance:
- Facilitating the safe movement of people through buildings.
- Upholding high professionalism and compliance at all times.
Working Hours & Conditions:
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, within a defined radius from the core base.
- Daytime only (no night shifts).
- Shift patterns vary depending on operational needs, with potential cover duties at nearby sites.
- Use of your own vehicle is a requirement (mileage will be reimbursed).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a professional, welcoming, and customer-focused service to all court users.
- Enforce building access controls while adhering to security protocols.
- Operate and monitor security equipment (CCTV, x-ray machines, handheld metal detectors) and conduct searches as per site procedures.
- Generate accurate recordings and incident reports.
- Maintain safe and secure movements of staff, service users, and visitors.

Requirements
Essential:
- Right to Work in the UK with eligibility for an enhanced DBS check and BS7858 security clearance.
- Valid SIA security licence and relevant security experience.
- Full UK driving licence and provision of own vehicle (*essential for mobility).
- Proven communication and customer service skills.
- Strong professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Capability to work across multiple locations with adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Understanding of security protocols and health & safety practices.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations.
Desirable:
- Experience in public sector or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with CCTV or screening equipment.
