Mobile Dispensing Optician

As a Mobile Dispensing Optician, you will work across different stores within a defined geographical area to provide cover when opticians are unavailable.

About the Role

Our Mobile Dispensing Opticians play a critical role in supporting stores with clinical dispensing services. You will work closely with a Mobile Optometrist, ensuring a seamless journey for patients from consultation to dispensing. Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver exceptional care, advising customers on appropriate optical and healthcare products and services
  • Flexible working across the optical network, developing expertise to meet patient needs
  • Provide specialist knowledge for patients requiring complex solutions
  • Coach staff, mentor Student Dispensing Opticians, and other team members
  • Ensure legal compliance with clinical standards, policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Contribute to store leadership, maintaining high clinical standards and operational efficiency
  • Champion the digital agenda, guiding customers with relevant tech solutions

What You’ll Need

Essential qualifications, skills, or experience:

  • Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
  • Extensive optical dispensing experience and expertise
  • Strong ability to build relationships with team members, leaders, customers, and external partners
  • Commitment to delivering high clinical standards
  • Willingness to model best practice and drive Boots’ Healthcare Ambition
  • Motivated to grow professionally, completing CET training as required by the GOC
  • Ability to travel between stores in the region
