The Role
Due to McCarthy Stone’s evolving care and lifestyle delivery, we are seeking compassionate Mobile Domestic and Lifestyle Assistants to join our diverse care team.
Location: Hertford and the surrounding area. *Transport: A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential. Travel expenses covered with 43p per mile reimbursement.
Hourly Rate: £12.85 per hour Hours: Up to 20 hours per week on a flexible rota basis, including mornings, evenings, alternate weekends, and occasional bank holidays (between 7am and 10pm).

About the Role
This role involves domestic services and independent living support, working closely with Field Care Supervisors, House Managers, and Registered Care Managers to deliver tailored services such as:
- Communal cleaning (apartment blocks and shared areas)
- Personalised domestic support (cleaning, laundry, shopping)
- Social companionship & wellbeing activities
This is a mobile, field-based role, requiring travel between multiple developments.
Key Responsibilities
Domestic Support
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in communal areas to create a pleasant environment.
- Provide domestic assistance to homeowners, including:
- Cleaning and laundry services
- Grocery shopping and household errands

Social Support
- Assist with social activities and transportation
- Support appointments and weekend events for enhanced quality of life
Additional Opportunities
If you also wish to assist individual homeowners (e.g., personal hygiene, medication), consider our Care & Support roles (paid at £14.50/hour, plus 43p/ mileage).
Requirements
Competencies & Experience
- Ideally: Previous experience in domestic/housekeeping roles, though not mandatory.
- Essential Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and time management.
- Must: Maintain a valid full UK license and operate your own vehicle.
Flexibility
- Ready to work flexible shifts (earlies, late shifts, weekends, occasional bank holidays).
