Mobile Electrican
Mobile Electrician – Permanent Position (Bellshill, Scotland)
Equans is seeking a Mobile Electrician to join our team for the Wheatley Contract, based in Bellshill with coverage of the surrounding area. This is a full-time, permanent role (40 hours per week) with a starting salary of £38,425 per annum, plus an excellent benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for delivering the following tasks effectively:

Scheduled Maintenance
- Perform routine Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on electrical infrastructure and plant as per site schedules and CAFM systems.
- Ensure maintenance aligns with contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Reactive & Time-Critical Works
- Swiftly address and resolve reactive maintenance tasks, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Remediate plant faults and defects, keeping equipment operational.
- Provide parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial work.
- Maintain adequate stock of essential spares for both maintenance and reactive situations.

Documentation & Compliance
- Complete all relevant documentation, submitting it timely to the contract administrator.
- Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices.
- Keep up-to-date plant logs and supervise subcontractor activities on-site.
- Comply with BS7671 standards for electrical maintenance, testing, and inspections.

Technical & Operational Support
- Operate the Permit to Work System in accordance with Equans’ Technical and SHEQ processes.
- Provide engineering support during emergencies to maintain operational continuity.
- Obtain (and maintain) necessary Technical Appointments (e.g., LVCP, LVAP, HVAP) to issue permits to subcontractors and Equans staff.

System & Data Management
- Update the CAFM system (e.g., PlanOn) with accurate data for both PPM and reactive works.
- Participate in an on-call rota (1 in 4 shift coverage) when required.

Relationships & Team Collaboration
- Foster strong working relationships with Equans staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, adhering to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniform policies.

Requirements
To successfully apply for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Fully qualified electrician, registered to IEE 18th Edition (zić) standards.
- Proven experience in commercial/industrial facilities management, including general electrical maintenance.
- Experience in Electrical Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Emergency Response, and Electrical Lighting Testing.
- Working knowledge of lightning and small power systems, low voltage electrical distribution, fire alarm systems, ventilation & HVAC, LTHW heating boilers, and domestic HV/COR water systems.
- Sound awareness of risk assessment and safe working practices with electrical equipment.
Personal Qualities
- Ability to follow instructions, adhere to technical method statements, and communicate complex information effectively.
- Team player with a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Documentation & Compliance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Disclosure Scotland (Basic Level) clearance due to contract requirements.
- Right to work in the UK must be evidenced.
Desirable (Not Optional)
- C&G 2391 Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations certification.
