Location: East Midlands (Field-Based)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30

Salary: £17.00 - £20.00 per hour (DOE)

About the Role

We are looking for a Mobile Forklift Engineer to join a well-established materials handling business. This is a predominantly mobile position, attending customer sites to service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and warehouse equipment. There may also be occasional workshop-based work when required.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Forklift Engineer, although candidates with a strong mechanical background from industries such as plant, HGV, agricultural or construction equipment will also be considered. Full on-the-job training is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.
  • Complete service reports and relevant job documentation accurately.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service while working on client sites.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
  • Assist with workshop-based repairs and servicing when required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer is highly desirable.
  • Engineers from plant, agricultural, HGV, automotive or similar mechanical backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.
  • Basic electrical and hydraulic knowledge.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Able to work independently and manage a mobile workload.
