Mobile Funeral Arranger
Salary & Hours
£26,266 per annum (£13.47 per hour) plus benefits Full-time role: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Location & Travel
Mobile role Covers approx. 9 funeral homes in Hertfordshire (including Hitchin, Welwyn Garden City, St Albans, and Harlow). Applicants must be able to travel independently across the area.

About the Role
At Co-op Funeralcare, we help families say the perfect goodbye to loved ones. This role provides hands-on support during some of life’s most difficult moments.
You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence for this position.
Important Considerations
All roles within Funeralcare may involve direct physical contact with the deceased as part of normal duties. Typical tasks include preparation, transportation, and care of the deceased, requiring:
- Adherence to health and safety standards
- Professionalism, dignity, and respect

What You’ll Do
As a Mobile Funeral Arranger, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Travelling to client locations to build and maintain positive relationships within the community
- Supporting clients in person and over the phone, including:
- Arranging family visits
- Answering questions about funeral arrangements
- Ensuring funeral homes remain clean, safe, and welcoming
- Maintaining professional/comforting environments for clients
- Reporting and recording maintenance issues (sometimes acting independently when the branch is closed)
- Managing digital systems and devices (computers, tablets, smartphones) for:
- Client documentation
- Funeral arrangements & invoicing
- Collaborating with the Funeral Plan Arrangers team on all regulated work (e.g., selling and discussing funeral plans)
- Providing manual handling assistance, including:
- Moving coffins
- Assisting in care and preparation of the deceased: ven Japabilities, make-up, dressing, positioning
- Updating client management applications with:
- Accurate records
- Timely entries for :

What You’ll Bring
- Full UK driving licence + access to a vehicle
- Ability to work independently in client meetings or managing a funeral home without direct supervision
- Strong communication skills for handling sensitive conversations with clients and colleagues
- Basic numeracy & data management skills:
- Cash handling
- Calculating discounts
- Data entry & invoicing
- Attention to detail to ensure policies, regulations, and processes are followed consistently
- Confident IT skills, including:
- Using computers, tablets, smartphones, and printers
- Quick adaptation to new digital systems (e.g., funeral planning apps)
- Passion for exceptional service and building trustful relationships
- Empathy, discretion, and emotional care in high-stress situations
- Physical capability to safely perform tasks such as mobilising coffins (appon
