As a core member of the maintenance function, you will carry out reactive, predictive, and planned maintenance across our sites. This is a mobile role, working Monday to Friday, covering Newmarket, Northampton, Bedford, Norwich, Yarmouth, Lenwade. A company van and tools are provided, and there is regular overtime available. You will be responsible for maintaining both fixed plant and mobile plant equipment, ensuring operational reliability and performance across all sites. The ideal candidate can be based out of any of these locations : Newmarket, Northampton, Bedford, Norwich, Yarmouth, Lenwade. What You Will Be Doing: Monitor, fault-find, maintain, and repair a wide range of equipment including hydraulic power packs, pumps, gearboxes, conveyor systems, and treatment machinery Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance on both fixed and mobile plant equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operational performance Maintain, monitor, and document all service, maintenance, and CMMS records Identify, investigate, and report machine faults and damages using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring issues Perform MIG, TIG, and other welding methods as required About You: Completed a nationally recognised mechanical or fabrication apprenticeship (minimum Level 3), ideally higher-level or time-served Proven background maintaining and repairing heavy plant and mobile machinery in engineering environments Able to work independently, managing your own time, workload, and site responsibilities effectively Committed to high standards, attention to detail, and safe working practices Full UK driving licence (company van and tools provided) Who we are: Our purpose is to create a future where the materials we use don’t need to be extracted from the planet.’ At EMR, we give new life to unwanted materials.
