Mobile Maintenance Technician – Important Notice
We are looking for Mobile Maintenance Technicians to cover the following areas (one per region):
Locations
- Midlands (West): Birmingham, Tipton, Coventry
- Midlands (East): Leicester, Nottingham, Melton, Lincoln (travelling via M42 / A42)
- North West / Stoke: Stoke, Manchester (Irlam), St Helens (travelling via M6 North)
Base Location: Aldridge
A Quick Overview of the Role
You will be responsible for executing planned maintenance activities, including:
- Equipment inspections
- Condition monitoring
- Routine servicing
You’ll also provide valuable technical feedback to optimise CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) job plans and task lists.
The primary goal is to reduce operational downtime by: ✅ Implementing effective preventative maintenance ✅ Ensuring timely breakthrough responses
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: 11-hour shifts for 4 days
Core Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical repairs and support the electrical team as needed
- Use the CMMS system to track and record:
- PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance)
- Reactive work orders, ensuring detailed and accurate feedback is logged for equipment history
- Collaborate closely with operations teams to:
- Diagnose faults quickly
- Restore plant to full working order
- Identify potential equipment failures and propose improvements to prevent repeat issues
- Log all accidents and incidents via the safety management system to uphold safety standards
- Undertake required training, including:
- MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform)
- FLT (Forklift Truck)
- Telehandler
- Confined Space Entry

Requirements
Essential
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant field
- Proven experience in fault diagnosis and rectification on complex plant and machinery
- Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of:
- Rotating equipment
- Shaft alignment
- Conveying systems
- Service equipment
- Competency with standard maintenance tools and equipment
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
Desirable
- HNC in Mechanical or Plant Engineering
- Experience with:
- Welding
- Basic electrical or instrumentation maintenance
- Proactive, detail-oriented "completer-finisher" mindset
