Mobile M&E Engineer

Mobile Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer

Location: South of England (South London & nearby areas) Contract Type: Full-time


About the Role

Equans seeks a Mobile Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer to join our workforce in the South of England. This position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs or equipment replacements, including emergency response tasks on an on-call rota.
  • Supervise and manage third-party contractors, ensuring compliance with Equans’ health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain accurate records (via CAFM systems and reporting tools), contribute to condition and dilapidation reports, and liaise with clients to provide excellent service.

Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • Recognised apprenticeship (EITB/CITB) or equivalent technical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds) in electrical/mechanical disciplines.
  • Hold an 18th Edition Electrical Certification and a full UK driving licence.
  • Experience in M&E services within commercial or corporate environments, with familiarity using CAFM systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, including the ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical schematics.
  • Awareness of Legionella control (Legionella Code of Practice – L8) and knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Health & Safety qualifications (NEBOSH/IOSH).
  • Experience working with multiple manufacturer systems and equipment.
