Role Overview

Location: RNAS Culdrose, Cornwall (covering other sites across Devon and Cornwall) Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: £46,000 + company car/car allowance

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective delivery of contractual obligations while maintaining compliance with JSP375.
  • Assess competence of skilled personnel, produce Risk Assessments, and create Method Statements.
  • Provide technical support to:
    • Site teams
    • Supply chain partners
    • End users
  • Support project work, reduce corrective actions, and align with MoD carbon reduction targets.
  • Advise on MOD Safe Systems of Work and liaise with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure maintenance and operational procedures meet compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Management Team to address project needs and mitigate deficiencies affecting safety and estate compliance.

Operational & Supervisory Duties

  • Supervise, assess, and coach Skilled Persons, ensuring training aligns with regulatory safety standards.
  • Lead multi-site operations in Devon and Cornwall, covering:
    • On-site technical interventions
    • Risk mitigation
    • Resource optimisation
    • Staff leadership

Essential Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Fully qualified (Level 3) Mechanical or Electrical Engineer.
  • Preferred but not compulsory: AP (Assessed Person) tickets in Electrical or Mechanical. We are willing to train the successful candidate.
  • Proven supervisory or management experience (e.g., team leadership, project oversight).
  • Deep understanding of Safe Systems of Work, particularly for JSP375 compliance and operational execution.
  • Strong ability to:
    • Solve complex technical problems.
    • Make autonomous decisions and work managing multiple sites.

Licensing & Travel

  • A full UK driver’s license (travel across sites and occasional out-of-hours on-call support required).
