Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer
Maintenance Engineer (Hard Services Team Leader)
Role Overview
Location: Newcastle or Glasgow, with regular travel to Scottish sites for work
Hours:
- Standard: 08:00am–16:30pm (Monday–Friday)
- 4-in-1 on-call rota covering Scottish sites – £100 per week
Salary:
- £38,500 (plus overtime and company van)

Job Purpose
To provide comprehensive maintenance support across multiple facilities in Scotland and North East England, blending proactive and reactive services to ensure operational reliability, client satisfaction, and efficiency improvements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Core Maintenance Work
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across assigned sites (covering building hard services systems).
- Maintain and service a wide range of technical equipment, including:
- Pumps & persistent irrigation systems
- Air Handling Units (AHUs) & VAV systems
- HVAC & air conditioning
- Backup generators & power generators
- Lighting & emergency lighting circuits
- Power distribution & electrical panels

Statutory & Compliance Tasks
- Weekly fire alarm testing
- Fire door inspections and validations
- Water mains & hygiene testing (flushing, temperature checks)
- Document all compliance checks & maintenance documentation accurately
Efficiency & Problem-Solving
- Diagnose faults efficiently, complete repairs, and recommend long-term solutions where necessary.
- Uphold strict safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations, standards, and company protocols.
- Manage and close work orders within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) using your assigned CMMS or CAFM system.
Relationships & Communication
- Liaise professionally with clients, site staff, subcontractors, and EMCOR team members during all phases of service.
- Issuing work permits and coordinating external contractors where required.
Innovation & Process Improvement
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance:
- Energy efficiency
- Risk reduction
- Resource optimisation
About the Role (Ideal Candidate Profile)
A self-motivated, dependable facilities management professional with hands-on experience in hard services maintenance. You will thrive in dynamic environments requiring:
🔹 Effective work management – Ability to prioritise tasks independently while hitting SLAs, balancing planned work with urgent reactive demands.
🔹 Versatility & mobility – Willingness to travel across multiple sites in Scotland and North East England. Confident with multi-site coordination and adapting procedures for different assets/clients.
