About the Role
As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heavy plant machinery across multiple sites. This is a field-based role, responding to breakdowns while carrying out planned maintenance to ensure maximum uptime across the fleet.
You’ll work with equipment including:
- ADTs
- Excavators
- Telehandlers
- Dozers
- Crushers (including cone crushers, screeners and trommels)
This role requires both mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on heavy plant equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults across diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
- Attend breakdowns across the region, delivering efficient on-site repairs.
- Complete diagnostic testing to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Maintain accurate service records in line with company procedures.
- Ensure all work complies with company health & safety standards.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence (required).
- Minimum 1 year’s experience servicing and repairing plant machinery.
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction plant, quarrying or recycling equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Construction Plant Maintenance OR Agricultural Plant Maintenance (essential).
- Full UK driving licence (reinforced, as both a qualification and experience requirement).
- Minimum 1 year’s experience servicing and repairing plant machinery (reinforced).
