BAM Site Solutions are recruiting a Mobile Plant Mechanic based out of our Depot in Kilsyth.

Executing within a team. The operational role and activities will be part of a busy workshop working internally and occasionally externally on BAM / Client Projects. Working within Operational Team to continually improve our safety, systems, processes and provide continued training and product knowledge. Continue to drive our endeavour for excellence in customer service and support our growing client and site portfolio. A challenging role requiring commitment and dedication. Self-motivation, able and competent to service and repair a variation of plant and equipment also resolve any mechanical issues.

Making Possible

  • Carry out workplace risk assessments on own and with team
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and management
  • Resolve technical problems relating to plant and equipment and share knowledge, use own initiative whilst on-site.
  • Carry out and record regular plant inspections
  • Carry put schedule servicing in accordance with manufactures specifications
  • Maintain internal plant to Site Solutions standards
  • Carry out on and off hire PDI inspections to Site Solutions standards
  • Carry out pre- through examination inspections
  • Provide clear and concise data, records
  • Lead the familiarisation or provide advice to others [apprentices / operators] in the safe operation and correct maintenance of plant
  • Advise / seek advice on the modification and development of plant to ensure compliance with Change Control Procedures
  • Identify opportunities to implement new technology
  • Carry out daily/weekly work programmes set by manager
  • Carry out workload in collaboration with operational teams
  • Train, mentor and develop others
  • Maintain personal diary/CPD record/ to demonstrate career development CV
  • Record all work carried out within company electronic system
  • Carry out workshop inspections as instructed
  • Maintain work area in a safe and tidy condition
  • Ensure compliance with company and legislative safety and environment requirements
  • Assist with implementation of Your Safety is My Safety
  • Manage working hours whilst on-site according to company procedures
  • Maintain company vehicle and contents to ensure compliance
  • Respond to unforeseen mechanical issues on-site at short notice outside normal working hours
  • Maintain sufficient stocks of spare parts in company vehicle replenishing as required.
  • Various other tasks consummate with your role or development

  • A clean driving licence preferred
  • NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds or equivalent in Plant maintenance and repair
  • Gain Level 3 Diploma in Plant Maintenance (Construction)
  • Gain Level 3 Diploma in controlling lifting operations – supervising lifts
  • CSCS Skilled worker card with plant maintenance and repair
  • CITB Health and safety touch screen test supervisory level
  • CITB Thorough examination course
