More About This Role: Mobile FMD Technician (Kent Area)

Location

Candidates for this position should be based in the Kent area.


What’s In It For You

As a Mobile FMD Technician, you will:

  • Join a team that maintains a fleet of vehicles for a contract customer, providing service and maintenance.
  • Operate under the Fleet Management Division, reporting to FMD Operations and working within the FMD business stream.
  • Contribute to preventative maintenance and repairs while traveling across assigned customer sites.

Your Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive preventative maintenance and repair standards.
  • Correct fault diagnosis to ensure:
    • Replacement parts are fitted correctly.
    • Warranty claims align with warranty terms.
  • Complete full and accurate end-of-shift handovers, including vehicle on/off-road status.
  • Attend customer sites as needed to carry out repairs.
  • Completion of job cards, service sheets, timesheets, and relevant paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Conduct diagnostic analysis where applicable.
  • Build rapport, trust, and respect with both internal and external customers.
  • Help create an effective, proactive, and inclusive cultural environment.
  • Perform any reasonable duties necessary for the operation of your assigned area.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes and methods.
  • Maintain and expand your skills through training (multi-skilling encouraged).
  • Ensure top-tier mechanical, electrical repairs, preventative maintenance and modifications of customer vehicles and related equipment.
  • Collaborate within the team to maintain employee and customer relations, fostering financial and cultural performance.
  • Enforce workplace standards for health, safety, and environment, both personally and in others:
    • Strict adherence to Company Safe Systems of Work.
  • Report accidents, risks, and near misses promptly, in line with company procedures.
  • Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards in the workplace.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately; report any defects immediately.
  • Wear the allocated corporate uniform consistently.

What You Will Bring

Desirable

  • GCSEs in Mathematics and English.
  • F-Gas 2079 certification.
  • Electrical and mechanical certificates.
  • Experience in mechanical environments (preferably with refrigeration).
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical information.

Essential

  • Technical expertise in mechanical or refrigeration.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Flexibility to travel among different locations.
