Location
This field-based role requires on-site work at customer locations within the surrounding areas of Sussex.
Role: Mobile FMD Technician
Reporting to FMD Operations and operating within the FMD business stream, this position involves the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a contract customer’s vehicle fleet. You’ll need flexibility, as travel between customer sites within your designated area will be a key part of your responsibilities.

What You Will Do
- Conduct comprehensive preventative maintenance and repairs
- Perform accurate fault diagnoses, ensuring parts replacements align with warranty terms
- Provide detailed end-of-shift handovers, including vehicle status
- Serve customer sites to execute repairs
- Complete all job cards, service sheets, timesheets, and relevant paperwork efficiently and accurately
- Carry out diagnostic analyses as needed
- Build customer trust with both internal and external contacts
- Contribute to a proactive, respectful culture within the team
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably required for the smooth operation of your area
- Advocate for continuous process improvement across operations
- Achieve multi-skill training to broaden capabilities
- Maintain high mechanical and electrical repair standards, including preventative maintenance and modifications
- Collaborate to uphold workshop financial and cultural objectives
- Adhere strictly to Company, Industry & Legal Health, Safety & Environmental standards
- Commit to safety first, including immediate accident/risk reporting and Safe Systems of Work
- Enforce exceptional housekeeping standards
- Wear PPE correctly and report any equipment defects
- Follow company uniforms at all times

What You Will Bring
Desirable
- GCSEs in Mathematics and English
- F-Gas 2079 certification
- Electrical and mechanical certifications
- Experience in a mechanical environment, proficiency in reading wiring diagrams and technical manuals
Essential
- Mechanical or refrigeration experience
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Computer literacy (professional tools/applications)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Full driving licence
- Flexibility to travel to various locations
