A Different Kind of RAC Role: Welcome to SMR

The RAC is traditionally known for roadside rescue—but this role is different.

Our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division delivers planned, structured repairs and servicing directly to RAC members, whether their vehicles are at their homes, offices, or workplaces.

  • No emergency callouts – No unpredictable shifts or last-minute reactions
  • Structured appointments – Work through a pre-booked schedule with consistent, organised tasks
  • Professional, in-depth service – Deliver routine servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and safety checks like a workshop, but mobile

Where You’ll Work

You’ll be part of the Hillingdon cluster, covering areas including:

  • Hillingdon
  • Uxbridge
  • Ruislip
  • Northolt
  • Hayes
  • West Drayton
  • Ealing

Your days will consist of pre-booked, scheduled appointments—no reactive callouts, just methodical, high-quality work where you can focus on doing it right the first time.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine servicing (including fluids, filters, tread checks)
  • Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment to trouble-shoot issues
  • Complete in-depth repairs (caused by routine wear-and-tear or failed diagnosis)
  • Provide technical advice reports and recommendations to members
  • Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards
  • Inspect and repair areas such as brakes, tyres, suspension and electrical systems

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
