Mobile Vehicle Technician – SMR Division | RAC
A competitive base salary of £45,378 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, if applicable), with on-target earnings of up to £57,000. Optional guaranteed overtime to increase earnings, plus additional bonus opportunities. 40-hour workweek, Monday–Saturday (8:00am–8:00pm), with 1 in 4 weekends available.
About the Role
Meet a new era of automotive service: our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division, where scheduled, high-quality vehicle repairs happen off-road – right where our members need them.
ousted is the unpredictable nature of roadside breakdowns. Here, you’ll deliver planned servicing and repairs without emergency response demands.
You’ll drive direct to locations in your local area (Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, Marlow, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross), working through organised bookings to execute:
- Routine servicing
- Advanced diagnostics (mobile equipment)
- In-depth repairs (warrantied to RAC standards)
- Vehicle safety checks
- Personalised member advice and dose diagnostics

Requirements
- Qualification: Level 2 status in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equiv.).
- Experience: 2 years+ in light vehicles—full workshop role (not breakdowns).
- License: Valid UK full driving licence, ≤6 points (any vehicle category).
