About This Role

As a Model Behaviour Architect in the Multilingual team, you’ll define and measure what constitutes excellent model behaviour across languages—beyond just English.

We’re looking for engineers, machine learning specialists, and large language model experts who can excel in model evaluation, policy creation, and elaborate evaluation pipelines for complex scenarios. Your role will be to partner with our Science team to establish what “good” means in multilingual contexts—language accuracy, naturalness, cultural relevance, and consistent performance across all languages where our models are deployed.

Your Responsibilities

  • Inspect models across multiple languages to pinpoint opportunities for improving multilingual behaviour
  • Collect internal and external feedback to identify areas for improvement
  • Define benchmarks for high-quality behaviour tailored to each language
  • Design and implement evaluation methodologies, data guidelines, synthetic test environments, and multilingual policy frameworks
  • Ensure that models aligned with cultural context, regional values, and user expectations
  • Detect and resolve edge-case behaviours through rigorous cross-language testing
  • Develop robust evaluation pipelines for new model candidates
  • Collaborate closely with AI Scientists

What We’re Looking For

You’re the ideal candidate if you meet these criteria:

  • A proven track record of building and verifying high-stakes evaluative frameworks
  • Deep expertise in one or more of these areas: linguistics, multilingual NLP, or LLMs, especially reasoning and tool use (preference for linguistics or multilingual NLP)
  • Thrives in dynamic, technically complex environments with high ambiguity
  • A history of innovating to overcome real-world operational constraints
